Fall in May?

The fall fashion collections are making waves on the runway.  The Fashion Group International (FGI) has produced a 90 minute DVD about Fall 2010 fashion.  Taken across the designers, there are clear trends emerging.

Camel - it is everywhere and not just in that old camel hair coat (which of course is still fabulous)

Skirts - micro-minis, knee length, waltz length, fall shorts with opaques

Shoes - more outrageous than ever

Feathers - in places you would not expect

Bras and bustiers - yes, the body is part of the fashion statement

Fur - real and faux from head to foot

Hand knit sweaters with matching head tops and gloves

Purple as a new neutral

Plaid, plaid and more plaid - as in old money and new style

Military inspired looks

Mix and mash - this was my favorite segment - new forms and new combinations of textures

Leather forever
